The history of sake brewing at Takara Shuzo dates back to 1842 in Fushimi, Kyoto. The name of the sake, Shochikubai, has long been considered a sign of "congratulations" and is often used in marriage ceremonies. The design features the Chinese character for "pine, bamboo, and plum" written horizontally, with a pine crown at the top.
The core material of the decorative barrel is styrofoam, so it cannot be filled with alcohol or opened by Kagami-biraki.
