This decorative barrel depicts traditional Japanese good luck charms.
The Chinese character for celebration in Japan, "Iwai" (congratulations), is written in large red letters in the center.
At the top is a pine tree, an evergreen coniferous tree that keeps its leaves green all year round and is considered a symbol of longevity because of its longevity (tens or hundreds of years).
In the background are cranes and turtles with wildly breaking waves.
In Japan, cranes are said to live for a thousand years and turtles for ten thousand years, and cranes and turtles are considered auspicious creatures symbolizing longevity.
The rough waves represent the modern world, and the cranes and tortoises are depicted as overcoming these waves and merging into prosperity.
The core material of the decorative barrel is styrofoam, so it cannot be filled with alcohol or opened by Kagami-biraki.
