This decorative barrel depicts traditional Japanese good luck charms.
The Chinese character for "Iwai" (congratulations) in Japan is written in large red letters in a diamond shape in the center.
The background is a festive red and white ground with many plum blossoms scattered over it.
In addition, a couple cranes, pine, bamboo, and plum blossoms are depicted within the central diamond shape.
The crane is also considered as a symbol of marital bliss because they are very good at getting along with each other and stay together for the rest of their lives, and as a bird that is connected to the gods because its cry reaches to the sky.
The pine tree is an evergreen coniferous tree that keeps its leaves green all year round and is considered a symbol of longevity because it can grow for tens or hundreds of years.
Bamboo is a symbol of "prosperity of offspring" because it never withers and grows straight and supple all year round, and because its roots are firmly planted in the ground and sprouts emerge.
The plum tree is a symbol of "nobility" and "longevity" because of its vitality, which blooms with a noble fragrance before a hundred flowers in early spring, when the weather is still bitterly cold.
The core material of the decorative barrel is styrofoam, so it cannot be filled with alcohol or opened by Kagami-biraki.
